Jee mains is conducted every year since 2013. Before 2013, it named as ALL INDIA ENTRANCE EXAM which is now popular as JEE MAIN (JOINT ENTRANCE EXAM.
It covers three main subjects as:
PHYSICS
CHEMISTRY
MATHEMATICS.
After clearing jee main you will get admission to most prestigious Nit's,IIIT's, and Gft's. Or you can eligible for JEE ADVANCE. And after clearing JEE ADVANCE you will get admission to dream college of every student IIT'S.
SO, there are two different types of cutoffs
(1) .You are eligible for JEE ADVANCE or
(2). You are eligible to get admission in top government colleges as Nit's,Iiit's and Gft's.etc.
AFTER CLEARING B.tech. course you either you go selected in reputed companies like AMAZON, GOOGLE, ADOBE, Etc.
OR you can pursue post-graduate degree M.TECH., M.SC. etc.
ALSO There is a another exam which is for B.arch.
Students must be appearing or completed +2 class with PCM Subjects.
From 2019, JEE MAIN is now conducted by NTA (a government examination agency). They follow the rules of the percentile method to make scorecard of the candidate by using the formula as:
100× no. Of candidate's appeared for the session with a raw score equal or less the than candidates
÷total no. Of candidate's appeared for the exam.
Now it is held twice a year in the month of January and April. Candidate can eligible for both exams and in which exam he score better is used for ranking.
JEE MAIN application form usually released in the month of September and March for January and April exam respectively.

Main documents needed to apply:
(a) Adhaar card
(b)10 certificate
(c)caste certificate (not for general)
Application fees -
Rs 600 for general candidate
Rs 300 for sc/st/girls.
EXAM DAY: On exam you just need to carry your Adhaar card ,a passport size photo along with color photo of Admit card which is issued just before two weeks of the exam date.
The result is declared on official website of jee main which is jeemain.nic.in. soon after the 2 or 3 weeks of the examination.
You might be confused about jee main scorecard because NTA does not tell your original Mark's or percentage, but they tell you about your rank and percentile (percentage of a candidate who has scored equal or below the in that session ) which is used for further admission in top government engineering colleges.
